2 yoa tooth brushing..help!

every day when i brush jayson's teeth its a fight... literally... he hates it.. i hate it.. i dread it... its the worst part of the day... ive tried singing a song while doing it... giving his teeth a "tickle".. brushing the bugs out... it always results in me holding him down and putting him in a sissor lock and prying his mouth open while he screams, kicks, and tries to break free.... i even let him pick his tooth brush and tooth paste.... he does ok on the bottom.. its the top 2 front teeth we have the hardest time with.. im starting to see some yellow color and what looks like decay in between the 2 front teeth... any ideas on how to prevent the every night fight?

Does he have one of those rotaing spin brushes? They have ones shaped like cars and planes...

no.. i have to go to target tomorrow for diapers... ill get him one then...

I try to do Bella's and she screams and bites. I give her one to play with and she brushes her hair. If u find a way let me know.

HA when you figure it out let me know.  Sage screaming like I am killing her when I try to brush her teeth.  But she loves having her ears cleaned for some reason?

I know you have tried all kinds of things but this is what we started doing...we got them the toothbrush they wanted (like u said) and we let them play with it...rule is that they have to be sitting (so they don't run around and jam into some body orifice- yuck!)...so then once they like the bru**** naturally ends in up in their mouth...I get mine and show them what I do.  I also have this thing with the girls where I say "who has teeth teeth..and let them show me teeth" this resulted from biting issues- but has been helpful with teeth brushing.  Then I say...lets brush our teeth.  So I do it (quick, quick, quick) then I brush their tongues quick...then I let them do it alone (basically they play).  They like the flavored toothpaste and the cute toothbrush--and to be independent.  They kill their toothbrush in like a month- but I would rather buy them more often then not get it done.  Some nights its smooth sailing and I feel like the teeth are actually clean and others- the youngest (16 months or so- is like I barely gets it across any teeth).  I hope you can find something that works....The teeth teeth teeth thing is what got my 2 year old started having nice teeth.  I also give her a gummy vitamin which she thinks is a treat- and then we brush teeth.  I dunno but it works for us- I think a spin brush is a good idea to try too,  Good luck- and I know your not alone!

With Emad I had the same issue...I let him pick out his toothbrush (one of those firefly light up ones) and his own toothpaste but still a battle. What helped me was he had a Diego bubble bath with a huge bobble head on it....I was like lets do Diego's teeth, and so use a toothbrush (extra) that we had on "Diego's" teeth and then take turns and say now let's do Emad's teeth...and he got into it and helped and let me. He also likes to brush his teeth in the bath for some reason??? Maybe if Jayson has a action figure or toy or something he likes you can do the same or get one and start?

i let him pick another brush today... he picked diego.. and we have diego bubble bath as well... good idea... i even bought him the crap that turns his teeth blue.. and he can spit it... he loves to spit
